Here are comments from Alex's son

Alex was a good father and a caring man. He spent almost 40 years as a probation officer in LA county, over half of that as a gang unit specialist. He did everything he could to help people get back on the right track. If any of you were on the Hilltop High track team you may remember him. He ran track at Hilltop and went on to run in college. He had a personal best mile time of 4 minutes 29.2 seconds. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Also, Alex entered several entries that are in his profile on our website.  They give us a broad view of the diversity of Alex's interests and thoughts about many topics.

Additionally, Alex was very supportive of our Reunion and other group activities we have pursured in recent years.  As a matter of fact he was a notable benefactor for one of our early reunion events when we were potentially at risk with the venue we had chosen for a major event.

It always was a pleasure to spend time with Alex and we will miss him!

This is a tough one to countenance--along with Alex's comments on the Forum, we had a correspondence of sorts on our private messaging.  Alex was an excellent, comprehensive historian on a broad range of topics--one of which, the Philippines, came as a complete surprise to me.

Knowing that he worked on the Gang Detail as a Probation Oficer, adds a new layer to my admiration of him.

At Hilltop, he was invariably kind and always had a good word for me which I appreciated greatly.

My most sincere condolences to his wife Lily and their son and others who were touched by him.
